6.2 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Piura

Until now, no damages have been reported from the seismic activity.

At 6:34 A.M., a 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred 43 kilometers east of Mí¡ncora with a depth of 18 kilometers, El Comercio reports.

La República informs that the earthquake was short but intense; there was a lot of shaking and the people ran out to the streets.

The National Institute of Defense has reported that, up until now, none of the relevant authorities in the zone of impact have reported damages, and that there was no loss of human life during the event.
