The world-famous Peruvian photographer joins efforts to help the affected northern area of Peru.

Piura has been suffering from the effects of the Coastal “El Niño” floods and heavy rains and the reconstruction process will require a lot of support from the Peruvian Government and the country’s citizens.

Mario Testino feels that he too needs to support his homeland. He announced that he will provide financial aid to help the victims of Piura. He had taken part of a disaster relief flood event that donated funds to reconstruction projects.

During the presentation of his new book 77 Contemporary Artists at the Mario Testino Museum in Barranco, the celebrity said more details will be given out over the next few days regarding his project to help Piura’s victims.

Testino has shown his support for Peru's situations after a weather crisis before. In 2007, when a magnitude 8 earthquake hit Pisco, he also got involved in a reconstruction project in a nearby town, where he supported the reconstruction of the Chincha hospital.
