Peru: a major nature tourism destination

Birdwatchers and nature lovers are welcomed to take part in the international event, Global Big Day 2017. Will you attend?

Global Big Day 2017, is the international birding competition to be held on May 13 and it is expected to place Peru in the eyes of the world.

The initiative to protect endangered birds and natural species was organized by U.S. Cornell University’s Lab of Ornithology. Hundred and fifty countries are participating in a 24-hour challenge, where the winner will be the one who spots the most birds. In 2016 and 2015, Peru was the winning country of the contest.

Where will birdwatchers be heading to? Participants will head to natural protected areas like Manu National Park, Tambopata National Reserve, Paracas National Reserve, El Sira Communal Reserve, among others.
