Peru continues to harbor vast mysteries just waiting to be discovered. What new novelties await?

While Peru is so well-known for the incredible Inca civilization and their famous stone walls like those of Machu Picchu and Sacsayhuaman fortress, it is easy to miss the grand variety of Pre-Colombian cultures that once existed throughout the vast territory.

TeleSUR English Youtube Channel brings us this inside look at the Huaca Garagay archaeological site, between 3,500 and 3,800 years old, complete with anthropomorphic decorations and detailed architecture. Even more surprising is that it can be found within the city of Lima in the district of San Martin de Porres. Check out the video below:

There are always new archaeological novelties coming out; most recently, a 15,000-year-old discovery on the coast that provides evidence for more advanced societies than previously believed. This is exciting news for us to ponder as we are eagerly awaiting the face reveal of a Moche governor priestess from National Geographic.
